Dr. Lan Gao was originally from China. He completed his B.S. in Physics and M.S. in Atmospheric Physics and Environment from Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology. He received his Ph.D. from the Desert Research Institute at the University of Nevada, Reno. His doctoral research surrounds aerosol-cloud interactions from observations and numerical models. He is currently a research scientist in the (CL)2EAR group. His research expertise includes aerosol-cloud-radiation interactions from numerous remote sensing platforms, radiative transfer modeling, aerosol retrievals from airborne and spaceborne remote sensors, and the application of machine learning algorithms in aerosol and cloud remote sensing.
